"Your hair smells nice," he says. Nice? NICE?! No, no no no nooooooo. That is not how the commercial goes. The line is "Your hair smalls like sunshine." Now THAT's a line. A line of poetry, romance, a line that says, "Oh my gosh whenever I am near you my whole world lights up and the most I have the nerve to do for you oh my goddess of radiance and joy is to offer you this humble libation of coffee with milk and sugar from McDonalds." When the hell did they change the line, "Your hair smells like sunshine" to "Your hair smells nice." Tepid, bland, boring. Nice is the adjective you use when you want to be pleasant without really evoking any emotion or mental images. It is a safe word that has many wonderful uses...safe, cautious, but pleasant uses. But "Your hair smells like sunshine"...that's a Really Good Line. That's a line to remember.
